The adventurer's life is nasty, brutish, and short. Only the absolutely impoverished or the megalomaniacally mad would stoop to graverobbing and dungeon-delving to put food on their table. But when there's no other work to be found, when you've been kicked out of a town and banished for your low birth or poor station, what choice do you have but to take up arms and seek out your fortune amidst monsters, ghosts, and goblins?

Manaseared is about the trials of one particular adventurer after this fashion. Her name is Eris. Like most of her make she's a teenage runaway with no other options. Unlike most others, she isn't mere fodder for the grinder. She is beautiful, brilliant, and an extremely talented magician; she's also vain, spiteful, selfish, callous, and obsessed with power. This is her story, as she grows into adulthood, masters her abilities, and learns to care about more than just herself.

This is also a story about The Life of adventurers on the road, as it really might be. It sucks. The stream of income is unreliable but necessary to maintain armor, weapons, equipment, and also yourself, all of which have a tendency to get damaged. It's a rough way of life, full of misery and misfortune. But for those who survive, the reward is spectacular power.
