After the unexpected success of a joke arcane ritual, Kaia Ngata falls through a one-way portal into a fantasy world full of magical wizards, noble knights and conveniently absent dysentery. Not only that, but she's the smartest person in it!

This… is a bad thing.

Newfound magic powers or no, there's only so much incompetence one average woman can take. Join Kaia on her quest to find her way back to her own world… or, failing that, at least someone capable of conducting a rational conversation.

Escape from Idiocia is being written for NaNoWriMo 2020. As such, I'll be enlisting the assistance of a story generation AI to help me meet this 30-day, 50,000-word target at over six times (!!) my normal writing pace.

My job, other than prodding the plot in the vague direction I want it to go and hoping for the best, will be to extrapolate logic from the madness and clean it up to a point where we might even end up with something – dare I say it – coherent?
