<p>A bullied duck turns its life around.</p> <p>An ugly frog finally finds a friend.</p> <p>A self-imposed delusion unravels and quickly crumbles.</p> <p>"Of Frogs, Ducks, and Other Things — A Compendium of Short Stories" is what it advertises: a small, but slowly growing collection of short stories of my own making.</p> <p>If any of the single sentence summaries above have grabbed your attention, please do give my stories a chance, and don't hesitate to give me feedback. I am far from perfect, but I do strive to improve, so it really would be much appreciated.</p> <p>Before you dive in, however, I have to warn you of two things.</p> <p>First and foremost: I'm not good at writing happy stories. I've tried a few times so far, and it never turned out as intended. Never turned out as a happy story. Always turned out as what I do best: stories thick with negative emotions. As such, I advise you to be prepared to leave any of my stories with a heavy knot of emotions in your chest. This also doubles as a bit of a trigger warning, since a few of my beta readers (aka friends and family that I forced into reading my stuff) asked that I please give them a headsup next time.</p> <p>Secondly: I do not have a set update schedule, as I usually lack the time, motivation, or creativity to get some writing done. Therefore, I only have a very limited backlog, and once that runs dry, downtime between updates will be defined by how much I write. Which, in all honesty, could mean anything from days to months of downtime. If that is something you can't bear, I completely understand, but I'd still appreciate if you at least gave what I currently have a chance.</p> <p>On a side note, the cover is fanart of my dearest rubber duck and son, Jaxon – who gave rise to my writing and shall forever have a special place in my heart – as drawn by my dear friend Dror.</p>
