The first virtual reality game, Solaris, has just suffered a disturbing fate. Falling victim to a hacker duo named Eira and Nils, the game has been wrested away from their creators. Under new management, the world of Solaris struggles to adapt to a new set of rules that are constantly changing. With the players themselves in charge of deciding the way this world will work, does Virtech have any hope of recovering their game? Do they deserve to?

Meanwhile, a competing company, Tripwire, struggles to find a competitive edge against Virtech, who have already established themselves in the Virtual Reality industry. A mysterious little startup may be the key to their success. Will Tripwire be able to use the confusion created by the hackers to their advantage without having it blamed on them? Who is really responsible? And why do the hackers seem to be improving the game?

This novel will not be told in a chronological manner and will use different perspectives. It might get a bit confusing at times. There will probably be a pretty even split between real-world content and in-game content. There will be quite a bit of discussion about game development and mechanics.
