<p> The story takes place in a distant world full of magic, inhabited by creatures named nymphs. People arrived here several hundred years ago and are the only ones incapable of magic. After the first years of peace, the war broke out, which led to great losses on both sides. The humans secured a piece of territory and divided it into nine parts: eight kingdoms and the central territory for the Navigation Tower and scholars. To ensure fair access of each country to different resources, a navigation mechanism was created. Every six years, it performs a Draw in the Tower, and the kingdoms change the territories they reside on using floating cities. Two consecutive terms on the same territory is the maximum that a country can get. At the start of the story, another Draw takes place. Cornelia, the young princess of Castro, takes part in the delegation to the Tower. When the Castro kingdom, residing in the harshest territory, gets a third term to stay there, she seeks for a way to ease people survival. Meanwhile, the ruler of Vardana uses the attendance of his vizier at the Draw to destroy his house and family, accusing him of treason. Ashwin, the vizier's young son, captured and facing a brutal execution. After moving to a new territory, the hunchback girl, Bug, finds a strange magic artifact that forever changes her life as an outcast.
