Enevar Lifer, an old man, now a farmer, and in the not-so-distant past, a 'something else' he wished to never revisit again. As a man of humble stature, he was content with the life he led now.

Taking care of a homestead that his dead late wife had left him, he seemed to spend his remaining days in retirement as a recluse, as far away as possible from civilization.

The old man loved his peace.

But tranquility shattered when, a decade later at the age of 78, Enevar's newfound peace crumbled. Mercenaries, remnants of the war between the Mundar Kingdom and the Fandral Empire, descended upon him. They pillaged his home, and set it ablaze, leaving only ashes of the life he cherished.

Spared from death by a thread of pity, Enevar witnessed his haven consumed by flames, memories of his wife tarnished.

As dawn broke, the marauders vanished, leaving Enevar with nothing but the smoldering ruins of what remained of his wife's memories.

Ene-Var Lifer was a foolish old man as he let the 'something else' inside him, be rekindled and resurrected... The old God of War within him stirred, and it wanted out... and it would use any excuse so that it would be allowed to revel once more, and feast on the blood of his... enemies.

***

The story would be slow-burn, with drama.

My ambition with this novel is to create a 'John Wick' in a high-fantasy world where magic and monsters exist. I hope you enjoy the ride too!
