Alex wasn't sure what the worst part of his day was: the gods kidnapping him, or everything before that part? Probably the kidnapping.

Taken to Mirrah, a world where the gods personally cultivated countless civilizations and subjected them all to cruel experiments, Alex is forced to be the newest challenger of the trials in Setting#42. Which just so happens to be one of the worst designed Settings on Mirrah.

Stuck in what is essentially a beta test for the System the gods are creating, he'll need to exploit every rule he can to overcome the horrific challenges within the isolated realm of the Setting. Better known, to its inhabitants, as the Tethered Lands of Crecia. While the local System in Crecia has many issues, one problem in particular has single handedly killed every challenger the Setting has ever hosted.

By design, stats are broken. Despite affecting much, and having many functions, they don't really work... at all. Alex will need to tackle every challenge in his path, and learn what he can of these so called gods, all while operating within the strict confines of regular human limitations. Kind of.

About the hiatus: Sorry to the few people that followed in the last few weeks, but I'm putting uploads on hold for awhile. I'm going to build up a bit of a backlog to give myself some breathing room for chapter releases going forward, and in an effort to get the series a bit more exposure. Not quite sure when uploads will restart, but I expect it'll take a few months. When it does, though, there will be a ton of new chapters. I do apologize, but I really think this is for the best, both for myself and the series. If you stick around, or check out the 10 current chapters in the meantime, thanks! It means a lot <3

This is my first real endeavor into writing. So, feel free to give me some tips or suggest corrections as a reader. If there are any of you .-. Thanks for stopping by!

What to expect:

- Alex is defined by his limitations, and finds power within them. His progression isn't straightforward, so no quick rise to ultimate overwhelming power.

- Settings are loosely based on actual video games, and the first major part of the story follows how craptacular it would be to actually have to live in a world like that.
