"You will do great things, boy."

Four words that Joseph Moran had heard more times than he could count in his lifetime. For a brief period, he himself had thought he would too, as dozens of doors had opened themselves to him. But eventually he had realized where his true passion lay, and opted instead to return to the place where it had all began, no longer as a mind to be moulded, but as a moulder.

Brunnsworth Academy was a magical place, literally and metaphorically, and now he was seeing it from a new perspective, one he greatly enjoyed. But now, for reasons he couldn't possibly fathom, the previous Head of the School has left his post, passing his responsibilities onto Joseph himself. During his rather rocky tenure, secrets are uncovered, mysteries unveiled and new enemies emerge, all the while Joseph struggles to keep the school afloat, even as the greatest revelation of all threatens to devour him whole.

------------

This is a story concept that really intrigued me. We've all seen the magic school tropes, but usually they're from the perspective of a student. Unfortunately there aren't many from the teachers' perspective and I thought that would be interesting, so this is my take on it, along with inspiration from another short story I saw where the old leader of a guild randomly flaked out and passed responsibility onto another guild member.

But this isn't a "chosen one" scenario where the MC was picked because they were the best. In fact the real reason is very far from it. Stay tuned. Cover will be uploaded (hopefully) soon, and new updates every Tuesday and Thursday starting May 18 onwards.
