An orphaned boy comes of age, finding himself blessed by an unknown pantheon, and sets out to experience the thrill of adventure.

Celestial Skies is a litRPG adventure set in the world of Olikros, where the Ancient Greek gods are real. Wielding Divine Essence, mages and warriors travel the continents, tamping down threats caused by Essence Beasts and rogue classers alike.

Anyone who read my previous novel will notice that it had a severe deficit of worldbuilding, and that the main character knew practically nothing about anything. There were some style issues, and my characters were uninteresting and underdeveloped. I'll be the first to admit that it wasn't great. Eventually, I just decided to keep writing, ignore some of the issues, and go back later when I had the time and experience. I have now realized that it will take a lot of time and experience, so I've decided to switch to writing something that's less inherently flawed. This novel's worldbuilding involves a modified calendar and time system, and draws inspiration from Greek and Roman mythology and worship, and takes hints of Catholic and Hindu as inspiration. Also, the mistakes were starting to grate on me really badly, and it was worsening my burnout, so I decided it would be optimal to switch it up. CS has felt great to write, it's like taking a vacation, in a way.

By the way, some of these gods may seem unfamiliar, or different than you remember. This should be especially true for you Percy Jackson fans. The truth is, I'm not the Greek history buff: my friend is. He knows so much, but his preference is the really old Greek myths, and so I'm going to be using some really old and obscure Greek gods. For example, the pantheon that blessed the main character? I'd be surprised if many of you knew all the gods. There are a couple that are well-known, but most of them? I'll give the first person to guess each of them a cookie! not really

Rant about scheduling issues:Celestial Skies does not update frequently. To put it in simple terms, I'm getting help from a friend to edit it and fix some of the aforementioned style issues, but that introduces scheduling conflicts. If/when my friend and I find more time to work on this, we will. I currently write about 3 chapters a month, but only one of those gets edited.
