"To whom much has been given, much will be asked" (c) The Gospel of Luke. So often, when we gain something, we forget these simple words. It's better for me always to remember them. I am a Break Knight. My mission is to protect the world from the threat of Breakthroughs. And I cannot refuse this "honor." Such is the condition of rebirth in this alien, deceptively similar to the former, but in many ways incomprehensible world. And yes, I indeed have been given a lot...

This is an amateur translation of the web novel series by Alexander Zaytsev (published on a non-commercial premise, with his permission).

Disclaimer: don't expect a high-quality literature text here. 70% of the credit for this translation goes to Google Translate and 25% to Grammarly. In general, I just hope that the result is good enough for readers to appreciate the original.

Also note that the tag "Psychological" is there for a reason: the story is told in the first person, and most of it focuses on the main character's thoughts, plans, emotions. If you decide to try it out - don't drop on the first 1-3 chapters, but if you didn't like it by 10, it's not worth continuing.

The start is pretty slow and difficult to get into, so when I tried this series the first time, I didn't get it and simply dropped it after the first or the second chapter. Yet, now it's one of my favorite web novels. Your taste obviously doesn't have to match mine, but still - this is something to be aware of.

I hope you'll enjoy the story.

Update (June 2023)

Don't mind the low score - someone decided to put 0.5 and 1 without explaining why. The only reason I can think of is the bad translation quality and errors (although there's also non-English dialog formatting). But I put a warning above for a reason, so then they shouldn't have read this novel in the first place if they are this picky.

I plan to run it through ChatGPT to improve the text when I'm done with another novel. This translation took ~4 months of manual work, so I won't be repeating that. But it should be possible to make a script and do paragraph-to-paragraph rewriting via AI. I did a test, asking it to translate a piece of the original and providing the matching piece of my translation as a context - the result looked much better than what we have now.

Once that work is done, I'll update this comment.
