Malou Lamaire wants to be every bit her father's daughter. Before he died, he helped perfect the Teir, a tiny machine powered by ancient magic and designed to predict the course of war. In the wrong hands, this very device could ignite what its algorithms were created to prevent: a fourth world war. It's the duty of the Teir's top scientists to keep the machine locked away. To live up to her father's legacy, Malou's determined to join them.

Then the scientists start disappearing. Someone is after the Teir. Before there's no one left to protect it, Malou and her best friend Gavriel dig into the secrets surrounding their deaths—and whether her father was the first victim. Getting involved might put Malou on the same hit list, but she won't abandon the Teir, her dreams, and her father. Even if she has to get her own hands bloody.

Gavriel Eng wants to keep the promise he made to Malou's father to protect her, and that requires him to also keep a number of secrets. Like the fact that he's part of a notorious criminal activist organization. Or that they want the Teir just as badly as the empire. Gavriel will have to find a way to use them to help Malou without putting her in even greater danger. That means possibly betraying everything he values.

Unfortunately, the world is on the brink of a crisis much bigger than either of them know.

Releases about every 8 days.
