<p>There were two things I knew for certain, one I really should have listened to Lady Evelyn and stayed out of the forest. Two, I was probably about to die. Staring at the large beast before me, I gave it a tentative smile and held out the freshly killed rabbit I had just shot with a hopeful gaze.</p> <p>"Nice dragon?" I asked, my voice wavering, as I watched the dragon sniff at the offered kill.</p> <p>The bastard born daughter of Prince Lance, second son of the king and a storm mage in the draconic order.</p> <p>Amber was raised by the lesser noble house who had employed her deceased mother as a maid, taught only the basic etiquettes, while the coin her father sent for her care was spent on the nobles own daughter.</p> <p>Amber's life is soon turned on its head, as she is summoned to the capital by her uncle the first prince. Finally receiving the acknowledgement of the kingdom and court, Amber thought her life was changing for the better. Granted a title and a Fief of her own, she quickly discovers that her uncle and grandfathers intentions were not what they first seemed.</p> <p>(This may be slow to get updates, as my focus is the Kelras Chronicles, this is simply what I am working on when I need a break from my other work.)</p> <p>This is a rough draft, only self edited and will be professionally edited once each book in the series is completed to prepare for publishing.
