Oh man this is gonna rock, Michael muses to himself. "It's not a game" The new RPG I bought and just finished downloading on Steam. The official servers launch first thing tomorrow morning, but they are letting us start the game now already to deal with things like character creation, which is more significant than usual since this particular MMORPG is more than a little unique.

Despite its title "It's not a game" it most certainly is one, but not in the traditional sense, this particular game is 'true permadeath'. That is too say, you can only create a character once and if he dies in the game, he is gone for good. Not only that, but if you lose your character, the game itself will be disabled on your Steam account and you won't be able to play it again. In addtion to this they only let you purchase the game if you have at least a level 4 Steam account, making your prospects for getting a second chance at it almost non-existent.

I think only one or two games two date have ever had the balls to pull something like this. 'True permadeath" hey. I wonder what if would be like to really be 'playing' an RPG with your life on the line, it might actually be really cool. Nah, I suppose there's nothing cool about dying. At any rate It's not like something like that could ever happen in real life ;)
