Years ago, the world was thrown into chaos when meteors, full of a mysterious energy called Aether, rained from the sky. Destroying cites, mutating plants and animals, and thrusting humanity into a gold rush to harvest this new energy, and the creatures it mutates, for their own gain.

Under the strain of competition for this new resource, and dealing with an emerging class of sentient animals popping up around the globe, the governments of the world collapse. Leaving private corporations to reign free over the land as warlords of the new world.

And then there is Rachel Ross; a young internet star, who became a military scout when her pet birds, Aristide and Talia, were drafted into a military mutation program; turning them into large, intelligent, fighting birds called Divs. The name given to organisms who diverge from the normal evolutionary path through Aether.

Now Rachel is on the run, abandoned by her children when she refuses to keep fighting in the constant wars and power struggles over Aether. Seeking only to be left alone, and to reconnect with her family and friends, including Aristides and Talia, and get back to making videos.

But it appears some people just can't leave well enough alone...

Disclaimers:

Chapter Frequency: I'm experimenting with creating a backlog by posting one chapter every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday so if there is ever a delay, you guys don't notice. Let me know which style you prefer, one arc all at once, or one chapter at a time.

Chapter Length: I try to keep chapters between 1500-2000 words. But as I get better, that number will probably increase.

Binge Preference: I plan for 9-10 chapters per arc, or part, as I call them in my notes. Each part is made to read like its own little novella.

ALSO: I'm currently building my platform and working on publishing my novel. So there will be a bit of delay for the final act. Currently looking for writer friends / critique partners etc for any advice for the transition in becoming a professional writer (services I might be able to offer, best places or strategies for marketing, side gigs I can take on while this is in the publishing process, other platforms I can use, etc.)

Hey look at this! A Patreon page. patreon.com/uhnari

I can't afford to write for free, so if you like my work, consider supporting me so I don't have to get a real job. Literally, any small amount of money helps immensely.
