Mutations. They were the foundation of the former terraforming facility called the Shelter. One needed to mutate, to be enhanced in any way possible, in order to find their role in society. And it was all thanks to the Glowing Green Goo, 3G for short , that unscientific miraculous mutagenic substance.

Zax though, had stopped caring about that long ago. No matter how poor and unlucky, puberty was supposed to make mutations unavoidable. Even if just a single one, even if just a small, inconsequential one, it was bound to happen.

It didn't, and he had long stopped hoping it would. He found his own place with the least mutated inhabitants of the Shelter; made friends, got a job, helped society in his small ways. A small but fulfilling life, that should have passed, without notice.

Until he managed something new with the 3G. Something thought impossible. Something he was not ready for.

Something humanity was not ready for.

A/N:

Slow start.

No actual schedule, but roughtly one chapter every 2 weeks so far.

Started as a writing exercise to force me to be less perfectionist, force good habits, and gain experience for a bigger project later.

Lost control and it became a real novel. I still don't know how.

Any feedback is welcome, I want to improve.
