The sky darkened and the black fog descended upon the land. It festered and lingered in the air as it devoured the souls of those upon it. As the wheel of pestilence churned and the bell struck thrice, a new world had emerged. Not one of compassion. Nor of empathy. But of mistrust and self-servitude. The plague brought the kingdoms to their knees. No fortress would be impervious to its wickedness. And everyone would suffer in what would be known as the age of great desolation.

Forced to endure and overcome the evil that destroyed her village, Lilah Grimfel is set on a path to become one of the greatest warriors that ever lived. Though her strong sense of morality oftentimes proves burdensome when the line blurs between monsters and men.

Grimfel is a grimdark/medieval fantasy web serial about a girl named Lilah Grimfel and her grueling journey through the age of great desolation. Everything was relatively peaceful until the black fog appeared. It ravaged her village, bringing sickness and death to the people. Wild ravenous beasts slaughtered those that remained. Forced to escape in the night with her brother and father, Lilah is sent on a perilous path.

On her journey, she comes across great evil, sometimes supernatural but oftentimes from those least expected. Her strong sense of morality is shattered when she experiences the venomous side of human nature. In times of famine and tragedy, it does not instill compassion and kindness in those around her. And many times people often trample over the weak and suffering to save themselves.

Upon a bitter dark world with a bleak future, Lilah finds great desire to become one of the strongest warriors of her time. Even daring to go up against powerful armies and formidable gods. Though she has inherited no special power, battle-worn and hardened is how she earns her valor.

Whilst the land is torn asunder by the plague, Lilah is caught up in a web of secrets and lies. Of all which will lead her to the truth.

That she's to blame for everything that's happening.

Note: Any awkward grammar is intentional because it is written from Lilah's perspective. But I do welcome your input. Thank you for reading.

You can also read it on the main website with extra bonus content.

Warning: Grimfel lives up to the name in that it is set in a grimdark world. As such, there is much swearing, death, and graphic depictions of violence throughout the serial. I would recommend it for 17+ but it is up to the reader's discretion. Also, there's a lot of tree descriptions. Lots of trees. If anyone is afraid of trees I highly recommend looking away.
