<p>Everyone knows the story of an average person from Earth being brought to a fantastical world to fight the forces of evil. How they obtain great power, beautiful women, and the admiration of the masses. Too bad that for the most part, a story is all it is. More often than not, the Earther is nothing more than a pawn in a political game to the ones who summoned them, or seen as a resource to be used and tossed aside. What would an average person do when thrown into such a situation?</p> <p>Years ago, seven such Earthers had the fate of meeting, and swore to put a stop to summoning abuse once and for all. Together, they formed the Terran Otherworldly Advocacy League, an organization dedicated to protecting Earthers wherever they may be across the multiverse.</p> <p>At the forefront of their mission is Artyom Choi, one of the organization's founding members and captain of their combat branch. Embittered by years of seeing the worst these fantastical worlds have to offer, from conniving royals to heartless monsters with or without human skin, Artyom has grown cynical of anyone not from Earth.</p> <p>Ironically, his latest mission takes him to a seemingly idyllic fantasy world where innocence rules the hearts of its people. Sent to investigate the possibility of a new, undetectable method of summoning Earthers, will Artyom be able to fulfill his mission while harboring such misanthropy, or will the innocence of this world rekindle his faith in the multiverse? But something in this world is amiss, and its dark secrets could spell doom for the mission and Artyom both.</p> <p>This story is meant to be a deconstruction of the isekai genre that references and sometimes pokes fun at various tropes. Artyom isn't some kid whose goal is to amass Levels or a harem. In fact, all he cares about is protecting other Earthers, and won't let anything like that get in the way! So expect to see:</p> <p>-A mature main character who still has some flaws.</p> <p>-Character development over the course of the story.</p> <p>-No harems! (see last point for exception)</p> <p>-A vibrant world full of interesting people, deep culture, and mysterious lore that gets uncovered as the story goes on.</p> <p>-Plenty of funny moments along the way!</p> <p>-The presence of a few cliched tropes and stereotypes for the sake of poking fun at them.</p> <p>So step in, take the first leap, and uncover the next hot take on this expansive genre!</p> <p>[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]</p>
