<p>Lady Korelia lived her whole life punished by the King for refusing to marry him. Every suitor she had changed his mind until she was deemed an old maid. When her father passes away, she's left the only successor to the land, but a woman can't be allowed to rule alone. In another attempt at revenge, the King marries Korelia off to Lord Golider, the man she's least likely to appreciate. She must obey or lose her property and her title.</p> <p>Golider finds Korelia too stubborn and willful, not at all like the women he's accustomed to. Korelia thinks he should keep his opinions to himself and let her rule her own land the way she knows it should be. The more they butt heads, the more they learn about each other's strengths and values, until their affection grows and their punishment seems like a reward.</p> <p>In one last act of treachery, the King attempts to destroy them for good. With both their lives on the line and all semblance of trust between them broken, Korelia and Golider must find the truth in the web of lies or lose not only their love but their lives in the process.</p>
