On the battlefields of Europe, the bloodiest fighting of The Great War has just begun and the blood of tens of thousands is spilt each day. Blood that will be soaked into the earth and awaken something long thought impossible.

This is my entry for the royal road community magazine challenge, if anyone is unsure the prompt given was – and then the sun went out.

I am looking forward to give this my best shot and will likely update once this story every Sunday.
