In this story, there exist four floating islands. There is one middle island that was once connected by large bridges to three surrounding ones.

The bridges are raised until a "promised day" disallowing any member of an island to cross to another.

The main rulers of each islands are a group of humans known as "Elementals". They represent fire, ice, and wind, and are split across the surrounding three islands.

The history tells of an omnipotent angel who sealed himself away in the middle island when fighting against the Lord of Demons. Before his fight, he made a promise to his three closest friends. These friends are the ancestors of those who rule the Elementals today. The promise was stated centuries ago. "On a certain day, come to my body and claim all my power."

When the bridges fall on that day, a race will occur for the three major nations. The first Elemental to reach that middle will be able to claim that power, and thus they will bring themselves and their race to glory if they so desire.
