The war is almost over. The world has been reclaimed from the genocidal madness of the People's Salvation. Only one holdout remains - the fortified island of Delan's Rock, where the last of the dictator Nilen's fanatics have dug themselves in. Rann, a war-weary marine sergeant, is part of the loyalist task force sent to destroy the Salvator diehards. After eight years of devastating total war, he and his soldiers believe they are ready for anything. They have no idea of the horrors they are about to face.

A low-fantasy/sci-fi novella about the madness of war and the cruelty of fate. This story is set immediately after The Last Intervention, but it is intended as its own standalone narrative.
