Ashe is a technical support specialist at a bank, living with his roommate Sam and girlfriend Emily. His life is mundane until he discovers the MMORPG Tales of The Endless Darkness. Quickly becoming obsessed, he finds himself sucked into the game and forced to live as his in-game character, Ashe the High Elf Dark Knight.

At first, Ashe revels in his newfound abilities and strengths, but soon realizes that the game's dangers are all too real. He must navigate the treacherous world of Endless Darkness, fighting monsters and leveling up to survive. As his virtual adventures continue, Ashe's obsession with the game grows stronger, causing tension between him and his loved ones in the real world.
