Hazen has had only one dream since childhood, one aspiration which informs his every action, his every breath: to be a hero, and slay the Dark Lord.

He works towards his goal with discipline that impresses even his reluctant, yawning mentor Anders. He finds a mythical, sacred sword and gains strength beyond human imagining.

But when it comes time to 'fulfill his destiny', things do not go according to plan.
