A people oppressed, forced into a Treatise lest their race and their magic are eradicated. That is the world Faolan, a young anthropomorphic arctic fox, is born to. Every winter, prospective males and females are sent from their home, Ísey, to court with the Nobility of the Outsiders. Such is it to be, as per the Treatise. But when a Star falls to earth laden with untold power, dark forces gather and ancient plans are put into motion, causing the young Wyld Mage to flee.
