Ferrin's voice was taken from him as a child. Raised as a servant of the Voiced, a class of people that wielded the powers of the spirits that permeated the world, he struggled. Showing no signs of melding with his own spirit, he was relegated to the most dangerous and mind-numbing tasks. Acting as a combat instructor for newly Voiced and gladiator in the Pit, it was expected he would die any day.

Faced with overwhelming odds in the Pit, he shattered his collar and teleported away from the city of Entropis. With new power he never expected, he has to try and adapt to a new world where he isn't just a silent servant.

The World Beside is a story that--like many other stories here--has been floating around in my head for a while now. Focusing on Ferrin, there will be the occasional side chapter, but the story is always going to be about his journey and experiences interacting with the world and the people in it.

The current plan is a chapter every Tu-Th-Sa, but there may be more if I get on a really big writing kick and extend my backlog more. Chapters will be around 2k words in length.
