The Age of Magic was a golden era of human history. Peace reigned for 1000 years in the world of Xaven, and the unified super continent grew in prosperity and peace.

Then, it ended. Only 20 years ago, mages opened a portal to another world, a great discovery and achievement. It didn't last. They lost control of the gateway. It spewed monsters and the demons of nightmares: Atrox. The Western Continent was taken from humanity. Mages were cursed, cast out of society and killed on the spot when discovered.

The next age is here. An age filled with war and fractured empires. Lord Alexander of the Initium Kingdom is given nothing but a small town to his name, being nothing more than a bastard child. He is to die, his existence forgotten.
