Sixteen-year-old Raven Roberts is at the lowest point in her life: her mother is dying from a viral pandemic, and her father spends most of his time invested in his work. Raven loves her mother more than anything, but the cure to save her is rare and expensive.

Raven's luck turns when she learns that the popular video game company for which her father works, Osiris Corporation, is offering the cure to participants of its new virtual reality massively multiplayer online game, LoveGame. Despite her gaming inexperience, Raven signs up, determined to save her mother's life.

With help from the non-player character Tristan and her father, Raven battles her way through the game, but she comes to find out that playing against thousands of desperate rivals is not as easy as she anticipated. To make matters worse, Osiris Corporation is hiding secrets that will force Raven to face the consequences of her actions...
