After giving up on the world due to experiencing one too many personal losses, a man awakens in an unfamiliar forest bearing the face, equipment, and skills of his gaming avatar from his preferred VRMMORPG: Warlords & Mages Online.

With no way to return and a slowly building realization that he doesn't want to, he becomes embroiled in a world only a few years into the recovery phase following a great and costly war. The gasoline to light the fuse for the second round of brutal warfare has already been poured, however.

Soon, he'll come to understand there was a reason for his cosmic relocation. A purpose. A destiny.
