I propose we have definitions for the Genres. And maybe tags also? There are too many tags, so I don't know. Of course, it would be wise if such things required staff/admin approval when added/edited before viewed on site, maybe consider this in the future? |

That's a decent idea. Right now, a lot of the tagging system is driven from systems where tags can be arbitrarily defined. As such, you get a LOT of garbage and noise. I've been thinking about just deleting all tags that are only used in one place, but at the moment I'm just kind of ignoring the problem and hoping it doesn't bother too many people. Ideally, I'd like a curated tag-set, with the potential facility to have multiple tag synonyms that are flattened down to one tag. That would help keep the imported data consistent, and still mitigate a lot of the tag mess. Alternatively, having arbitrary tags, but being able to browse by only tags which are used in > n cases would probably largely mitigate the issue. Genre definitions are a decent idea. |
